Dr. Hasan started his career as a Research Scientist at Novartis in Japan, where he contributed to efforts to identify and characterize putative therapeutic molecules as targets for drug designing. He did research on topics related to immunology and on cancer biology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He began his IP career with Lahive & Cockfield in 2001. He is a registered patent attorney with the US Patent and Trademark Office and a member of the Massachusetts bar.

Dr. Hasan leads the firm's biotechnology practice.

Dr. Hasan obtained his Ph.D. degree in Molecular Biology from Hokkaido University, Japan, and hisJ.D. degree from Suffolk University Law School.
